On 3-4 June 2010 in Kiev the tenth International Business Forum “Direct Marketing Days in Ukraine 2010” took place. This time we confirmed the status of DM capital under the slogan “Down with marketing – up with sales!”.

We did not trigger off war between the Marketing and Sales departments. We emphasized sales as the primary and urgent challenge for every business.

We considered sales as the system of key points and processes, which almost always are represented by direct marketing. What is DM after all? This is communication and influence between a salesman and a customer.

Our objective was to give integral and monetizable content to the participants, which will enable them to make more intensive and quality sales. And the responce of our participants proves that we had a success.

It’s already a tradition that Direct Marketing Days in Ukraine include 4 information flows:

  • we considered the development of effective communication, response handling, quality databases, training of the sales personnel, virus marketing, social networking, mobile marketing and many other issues. But the main thing is that these things all deal with direct marketing. And the way HOW it SELLS;
  • we tried to understand what’s behind the consumer’s distrust to mail order; how a e-customer can be not only engaged, but also retained; what are the alternatives of the state post service operator; and what is the future of mail order industry in Ukraine;
  • we will discussed the correct way to arrange telemarketing by means of contact centre; how to develop efficient business-processes; how and who should make assessment of telephone service and why it is necessary; how to organize the cooperation with internal customers; and the innovations of the past year in the modern call/contact centres equipment;
  • And, of course, we will held the public defence and named the winners of the best DM project award Direct Hit. The best DM solutions, that proved to be valid and efficient in the real life were presented here.
