A new increase in tariffs for universal postal services is expected
As it became known from reliable sources the National Regulation Committee for Ukrainian communications had approved the project of limit rates for universal postal services. According to this document, since January 1, 2009, the cost of sending a non-registered letter up to 20 g will increase by 80% and a non-registered postal packet up to 100 g – by more than 58%.

Express-delivery: growth with a speed of the express
The market of express delivery in Russia is growing at a very fast pace: by 30 – 40% per year. It can be explained by the fact the market hasn’t formed yet and it has not passed the phase of intensive growth. The growth of demand of physical entities also influences the dynamics – this segment will predetermine the further market development. It is assisted by the development of distance selling, Internet-trade, large trading networks.

Within this cooperation “i-Free” Company developed and launched a service allowing quickly and easily completing the obligatory car-insurance policy OSAGO by means of a mobile phone.

Hypermarket network “O’key” is sending out food parcels
An unexpected parcel was waiting for the editors of “DELO” Newspaper at the reception. In the “addressee” column there was: “Your distant relative”. The content of a bright –yellow box consisted of a sugar package and a buckwheat package. Satirical mindset of editorial staff immediately called this parcel “an anti-crisis ration”. And this is quite logical taking into consideration threatening forecasts about forthcoming tough winter for the Ukrainians.

DHL to slash 9,500 US jobs
In order to meet its financial goals, Deutsche Post World Net, parent company of DHL Express, today said it will discontinue its US-only air and ground services, resulting in the loss of 9,500 jobs. The move will allow the U.S. Express business to cut its operating costs from $5.4 billion to under $1 billion - a drop of more than 80%.
